Drags Reducing Agents

Drag reducing agents, often known as drag reducers or flow that reduces frictional pressure loss while fluid flow in a pipeline. The pressure loss reduction is accomplished by reducing the turbulence in the fluid flow. Drag reducing agents are generally used in petroleum pipelines to increase the pipeline capacity by reducing turbulence and increasing laminar flow.

Drag reducing agents can be classified as polymers, solid particle suspensions, biological additives and surfactants. Made out of high molecular weight polymers, polymers help with pressure reduction by reducing the turbulence in the oil lines. This allows for oil to be flowed at ease and pumped through at lower pressures, saving energy and money. Small amount of drag reducer is enough to reduce the turbulence inside the oil pipe. It comes into contact with oil and the pie wall to reduce the contact of oil with the wall.  Change in the properties of DRA can occur during the flow, and in order to protect against degradation, another class of agents are at times used, called, surfactants.

Drag reducing agents finds its application in various industries; shipping building industry, fire-fighting operations, oil well fracturing processes, irrigation systems, and in the central heating devices. It also works in different fields including crude oil, refined products and non portable water. ENAWT is one of the reliable names in the trading of drag reducing agents in the Middle East. We caters various class DRA to customers to meet their diverse needs in accordance with international standards. It helps customers to meet reliable performance in the most demanding conditions.
